“Lit doesn’t get better than this.”
Each April, authors, publishers and book-lovers celebrate the best of local literature at the Minnesota Book Awards Ceremony. In 2015 we returned to the beautiful and historic Union Depot in Lowertown, Saint Paul. Books, autographs, refreshments, live music, and the announcement of the award winners made for an unforgettable evening. MPR Arts reporter Euan Kerr hosted.
Last year’s event:
7:00 p.m. – Preface Reception
Meet the finalists, book sales and signing, complimentary passed wine and cash bar.
8:00 p.m. – Awards Ceremony
Wine and refreshments, celebrity presenters and more, with music by acclaimed jazz trio The Willie August Project.
9:30 p.m. – Epilogue After-Party
Enjoy complimentary champagne and desserts, toast the winners and finalists, and listen to live New Orleans-style jazz by the King Baron Quartet.
Awards will be presented to the winners in eight book categories, as well as the 2015 Kay Sexton Award honoree Mary François Rockcastle and the 2015 Book Artist Award winners Harriet Bart, Philip Gallo, and Jill Jevne.
