The Saint Paul Public Library connects people in Saint Paul with the imperative and the joy of learning through a lifetime. Saint Paul residents can enjoy free access to technology, books, movies, music, classes, and more at any of the twelve neighborhood libraries, Central Library and Bookmobile.
Success, literacy, strong communities, and hard-to-find services, what do these all have in common? These are the values Americans attribute to their local library. Public libraries are at the root of any community, and the services, programs, and materials they offer are essential in promoting literacy and improving lives.
SPPL prides itself on keeping up with the times, and to do so we need libraries that can accommodate the needs of our city’s diverse learners, and anticipate the adaptability and technology needs of current and future library users. This year, in addition to ongoing upgrades at several branches, the Library is proud to be completing major renovations on two libraries and opening another!
Advocate for strong public support of your library! Thank your City Council member for their leadership and commitment to Saint Paul’s libraries, and ask them to support the position paper prepared annually by The Friends’ Advocacy Committee. It’s because of their steadfast support that we enjoy one of the best libraries of its size in the country.
