The Small Business Resource Center (SBRC) at the Rondo Library was started as a result of a community strategic planning process. Significant investment was made in building a collection of reference and circulating materials to assist small business owners and prospective entrepreneurs by helping them determine business objectives and take action. The SBRC contains the majority of the Library’s business collection materials, as well as dedicated computer workstations with access to business specific databases.
Beginning entrepreneurs and small business owners use these resources, receive assistance, and produce the plans necessary to apply for loans, begin and grow businesses. Classes are offered in partnership with the Neighborhood Development Center on topics ranging from Understanding Basic Accounting to Key Elements of a Contract.
The Friends helped to secure funding from Wells Fargo to begin the Small Business Resource Center, and additional funding from Travelers when the facility moved to its current Rondo Library location.
