Jillian Rae is a multi-talented violinist, lead vocalist, and songwriter whose creative and dynamic style of violin playing, along with her lifelong experience as a performer, lend her an assured stage presence. A heavy hitter in the Minnesota music scene for years, Jillian has played with as many musicians as humanly possible – on stage, in the studio, or both. Currently, when she isn’t performing with her own band, you can still catch her playing fiddle and singing with a number of bands around the Twin Cities: Corpse Reviver (Early American Folk, Bluegrass), Steve Kaul & The Brass Kings (Folk Revisionist), Brian Just Band (’60’s California Pop), The Fiddle Heirs (5 fiddles and a bass), Adam Levy’s (The Honeydogs) solo project, and The Blackberry Brandy Boys (Cosmic Country).
Singer-songwriter Adam Levy has led the Minneapolis-based roots rock band, The Honeydogs, for over 20 years. Vintage Guitar Magazine called him a “great American songwriter;” Paste Magazine in 2006 referred to him as “capturing the zeitgeist of his era.” His lyrics draw from his 20 years experience as a social worker working with youth offenders, immigrants and refugees, his interests in history and culture and his commitment to issues of social justice. He has expanded stylistically to lead collaborations in numerous genres ranging from classical (And The Professors) to soul (Hookers $ Blow) l, children’s (Bunny Clogs) to experimental music (Liminal Phase). He is launching a solo album fall 2015 about his son Daniel’s struggles with mental illness and subsequent suicide in 2012. It is Levy’s most personal record to date, relying heavily on his guitar playing, voice and signature provocative lyrics.
