Save the Date! Sunday October 8, 2017
Since its humble beginnings in 2004, Opus & Olives has become the premier literary evening of the Twin Cities. Publishers and authors call it “the best book party in the country!” Attendance at this fun event has grown to include more than 1,100 community leaders from the business, political and social worlds.
The evening begins with a reception during which the emcee and authors are available to speak with guests and sign books, which can be purchased at the event. There’s a fun martini bar, as well as traditional cocktails and complimentary wine. Following this is a wonderful, chef-prepared, sit-down dinner after which each author speaks about their book, the writing process, and their inspiration. At the end of the author presentations, a representative from Delta Air Lines will draw the winning ticket for two First Class travel tickets. The evening ends with another opportunity to visit with authors and purchase books.
Recommended attire: Cocktail or Business Professional
Opus & Olives is a fundraising event hosted by – and supporting the work of – The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library and local literacy projects of the Pioneer Press.
Opus & Olives: Fine Print & Fine Food will be held October 8, 2017 at the RiverCentre in Saint Paul. Tickets include valet parking; a cocktail reception with author meet-and-greet, autographs, and book sales; a delicious chef-prepared dinner with copiously poured wine, and entertaining, often powerful author presentations. We hope to see you again! Tickets will be available later this year.
The 2016 author lineup was an all-woman cast featuring: historian Candice Millard; comedian and journalist Faith Salie; ever-curious, often humorous science writer, Mary Roach; the fully breathing and ‘groovy’ Terry McMillan; and Nadia Hashimi, pediatrician and internationally bestselling author of Afghan descent. Stay tuned for the 2017 line-up!
Opus & Olives offers an opportunity to engage with Twin Cities business and community leaders while entertaining clients, customers or friends. The Friends is grateful to our many sponsors for their generous support, especially 12-years’ lead sponsor RBC Wealth Management, who invite you to join them in supporting Opus & Olives!
Delta Air Lines, regular Opus & Olives sponsor, has generously donated two First Class tickets—to anywhere in the 48 contiguous United States and Canada the airline and its affiliates fly—for an exciting raffle. Great odds and affordable ticket prices make it one of the highlights of the event, whether you’re in attendance or not. Raffle tickets will be available in July.
