We’re Moving!

The Friends will move its offices in early 2023.

The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library is pleased to announce that in early 2023 we will be moving our office to downtown Saint Paul. We’ll be entering into a two-year sublease agreement with longtime partner Mairs & Power, who is making the generous in-kind gift of space.

When Mairs & Power learned The Friends needed a new location, after an eight-year tenancy at the CommonBond Communities administrative offices, they offered us a portion of the space they’d be leaving with their own planned move. The timing for both organizations aligned, and the agreement was made.

Friends President Beth Burns praised the collaboration. “This opportunity represents community partnership at its best. Mairs & Power has consistently supported The Friends, and this gift demonstrates their ongoing commitment to our mission—and to Saint Paul. Thanks to their generosity, The Friends will be better equipped to serve our constituents, support our staff, and invest in the library.”

The Friends has a staff of 16 employees who work in a hybrid model, splitting time between home and office. Our team looks forward to the collaboration a new space will foster and to returning to the heart of Saint Paul in the First National Bank Building. We will announce our new address closer to the move date.
