We’re so thrilled that Don Winslow will join us for this year’s Opus & Olives. In preparation for the big event, we asked Don a few questions to help fans get to know him better. This is an #opusexclusive.
Tell us something that people might not know about you.
But then they’d know, wouldn’t they? Okay – I’m avid baseball fan and I sponsor stolen bases for a local minor league team, the Ocean State Waves.
What is something you’re proud of about your book and why?

Well, this trilogy took me over twenty-eight years to write, so I’m proud of having completed it. I’m also proud that (I like to think, at least) I took the themes, characters and stories from the Greek and Roman classics and turned them into a contemporary crime saga.
Tell us what you love about libraries.
So much. My mom was a librarian and my love of books and writing started in that small library in my little New England fishing village. I could go anywhere in the world, and travel through time as well, just by prowling a few feet of shelves. It opened the world to me. Also, I believe that libraries were, and are, critical to our democracy in that they offer literacy and information to everyone, regardless of financial or social status.

Meet Don and the rest of our bestselling lineup in person on October 8 at the RiverCentre in downtown Saint Paul!
