Opus Exclusive: Nita Prose

We’re thrilled that Nita Prose will join us for this year’s Opus & Olives in support of The Friends and libraries. In preparation for the big event, we asked Nita a few questions to help fans get to know her better. This is an #opusexclusive.

Tell us something people might not know about you.

I once starred in a Mexican soap opera. (And yes, it was everything you are imagining and more!)

What is one thing about your book you are proud of and why?

I always wanted my book to be a way for people to practice empathy and to grow to love a character (Molly Gray) who may at first seem challenging to connect with. It thrills me and fills me with hope that many readers not only love Molly but see themselves in her. As Gran would say, “We’re all the same in different ways.”

Tell us what you love about libraries.

Books bring us together, and libraries are the places where that connection often starts. Librarians have a magical ability to pair the right book with the right reader at the right time, and a healthy public library system ensures access to books for all walks of life. There are few things more powerful than our stories, and libraries both protect and share them.

Meet Nita and the rest of our bestselling lineup on October 12 at the RiverCentre in downtown Saint Paul!
